Sony Ericsson Camera Driver
Change the Camera Driver on your Sony Ericsson phone
This page is just a quick guide to tell you how to install a new Camera Driver on your Sony Ericsson Phone. Modified camdrivers can contain enchantments that the
original drivers do not contain (e.g. Faster FPS, white balance etc). For this guide, I will be using the Sony Ericsson K550i as the example.
Requirements
- Windows 2000/XP (x86 NOT AMD64 OR ITANIUM64!!!)
- SEMC Flash Driver (just install Sony Ericsson Update Service to get this)
- XS++ (Click here to download)
- A replacement camdriver (A good camdriver for K550: Click here to download)
Method
Download and extract your preferred camdriver and start XS++
Remove and re-insert the battery in your phone, then in XS++ click connect.
Hold down the C button on your phone, keep it held down and connect your USB cable. If your phone was found, a load of info should show up in XS++
At the bottom right hand corner, click the radio button next to "FSX™" and wait for that to load up (can take up to a minute).
Navigate to /IFS/SETTINGS/CAMERA, highlight the file "camdriver0.dat" and click "Delete"
Click the button labelled "Upload", and browse to the place where you extracted the new camdriver, highlight it and select "Open". The camdriver should then upload
(only takes a few seconds).
Now click "Shutdown", and when XS++ says "Disconnected...Unplug your phone", you can unplug your phone.
And your now done!
