This page is about GANZ DVRs (Digital Video Recorder) systems (model numbers coming soon) used for CCTV systems. The storage device used for storing the video footage is a standard Seagate IDE
Hard Disk, and inputs from cameras are delivered through BNC connecters, in a composite format.
Remote AccessThe DVR has an onboard ethernet controller, which allows it to be connected to a TCP/IP computer network. One of the advantages of doing this is so users can remotely access the live video stream via Microsoft Windows based software, or through the DVR's built in web server. The web server allows the user to receive the stream, through a Java applet embedded into the page. The Microsoft Windows based software, entitled "Video Server E", can be downloaded here: Click here Common FaultsYou may find that the hard disk size reported on the DVR suddenly significantly decreases, from say 160GB to 7GB. This fault can be easily remedied using the following method to repartition the HDD (please note, all stored footage will be lost):
DOS users may not be able to use the fdisk tool, as it only supports a maximum of 137GB, this is not a problem if the disk size is under 137GB |
