Changing the Libretto RTC battery After receiving a Libretto 100 from Michal Dudek, it became apparent that it needed a new RTC (Real-Time Clock) battery. On the Libretto, the RTC battery keeps the Real-Time clock ticking over, and retains the config data in the BIOS. I had my Libretto 110CT which is now being used for spares, so I took the battery out of this system and put it in the Libretto 100. Please note: This may only apply to the Libretto 100/110, and not previous models

Before beginning, I would suggest that you initially remove the RAM module from the system (if you have one). This can be done by removing the strip above the keyboard, and lifting the keyboard. You then need to remove the little screw from the module, and take it out. Now, Flip the Libretto over, and remove all the screws from the underside. Then remove the cover carefully

Now, you can see the little green RTC battery.

Flip the Libretto back over carefully, and unplug the RTC battery wire, which can be accessed under the keyboard

Now, the RTC battery should easily come out

Now you can just reverse the logic to fit an RTC battery. Transplant done!
